As a wedding hairstylist and makeup artist, I believe it’s all about enhancing the bride’s natural beauty. Let’s bring out the real you — as gorgeous as you can be for this very special day. I love the process — and my brides do too! And one thing my brides love: I come to you, and I’ll be there for your wedding day to make sure you’re gorgeous, radiant, and perfectly styled without a hitch.
I’ve been obsessed with beauty and style since I was a little girl. By high school I was doing cuts and color for friends. I decided to pursue my passion, and studied hair, makeup and all the tools and elements of the trade at Capri Cosmetology Learning Center. I honed my craft in New York City, working with some of the best in style and fashion, and rose to an assistant position with top stylists at the exclusive Pierre Michel Salon on Manhattan’s East 57th Street. I worked closely with the great Leon Sananes, who encouraged me to refine and develop. I became known as a specialist for braids, and have done Pop-Up braiding bars at fashion events with Refinery 29 / Glossybox, and Puma (with Taryn Manning), among others. Then I came home to Saugerties to work in salons and independently, making brides beautiful. I continue to learn more technique and expand my horizons, taking courses, including celebrity makeup artist Helen Andereson’s great class at the Facestockholm store in Rhinebeck.
I’ve become an expert at blending a freshness and sophistication into a bride’s look. And while a huge fan of fashion and style trends, what I pay attention to the most is the desires of the bride herself.
Caitlyn’s Rauh’s work and brides have been featured in CynicalFashion, The New York Times, the Knot and more, and she’s styled for PUMA, LaCoste and a range of independent labels.
